BEAUTY PAGEANT BLOOPER

April 5, 1973

She told me Phi Mu Delta (yes–the Phi Mu Delta) wants me to be their contestant in the Miss Gorham Pageant.  I almost died.  I couldn’t believe they wanted chunky ol’ me. I was flattered.  I was laughing. I said yes.

What a first class Klutz! The director kept apologizing for laughing at me.

I’ll show them! All those people who think I’m an empty-headed blonde, I’m going to really hit them with that poem!
